R E F L E C T I O N

I alone walk these frozen hills
The paths we carved once was ours
A summer’s burn never felt so good
When you would hold me in your arms
You would open up my eyes
We we’re just getting started
A fresh, new path, with new friends, different sins
It was all glorious & gorgeous before the storm
The rains that came that day, the heart of nature
Mother Nature has her way, some days just fade away
Some days we could have saved, some things we cannot replace
And as the day grew older, aging into the night
Growing older, but still in it for the fight
We came to know & understand that with each day there’s always something new to learn
Be humble to those you find around you, teach them something they can pass on, before you’re gone
Because we only live -O-N-C-E-
The realization that you were no longer around
That you were never coming home
Struck me down, with the force of 100 lightning bolts heading towards the ground
Memories of fire flies in your eyes
The way you made heaven & earth collide
It was the perfect storm
But you were the ray of light that somehow shot out & escaped from the darkness
The darkened clouds, the rains & all the things it left behind
You were like a dream, the perfect design
Rarer than any diamond a man or machine could ever mine
